Mrs. Hassay is the Next Generation Digital Classroom(NGDC) teacher at Live Oak Elementary! As part of the NGDC initiative her class is testing out iPads with each student getting their own iPad to learn and explore with. Mrs. Hassay is also a finalist in the Presidential Award for Mathematics and Science Teaching in the math category! I was fortunate to experience first hand this fantastic teacher in action. After reviewing some expectations on how to use their iPads Mrs. Hassay challenged her students to go out and find some examples of numbers and numbers in action. Students took pictures with their iPads of numbers they found and items grouped in numbers. Then back in the classroom students had the opportunity to share with each other the numbers they found. What an easy way to elevate the learning experience with technology and incorporate those real life examples! Thanks Mrs. Hassay!
